Data We Collect

We only collect the information necessary to provide our services effectively:

1. Account Information

  • Identity: Your email address and username to create and secure your account.
  • Security: We store passwords in a hashed format (we cannot read them).
  • Billing: If you upgrade to Pro, payment details are processed securely by our partner, Lemon Squeezy. We only store transaction metadata (e.g., plan type, expiration date).

2. Usage & Technical Data

  • Device Info: Browser type, operating system, and IP address. We use this for security (preventing abuse) and troubleshooting.
  • Activity: How you interact with the site (e.g., tools used), which helps us improve the user experience.

How We Use Your Data

We use your information strictly to:

  • Provide Service: To let you log in, access your saved snippets, and use our tools.
  • Ensure Security: To detect and block fraud, spam, or unauthorized access attempts.
  • Process Transactions: To manage your Free or Pro subscription status.
  • Communication: To send important account updates (e.g., password resets). Marketing emails are sent only if you explicitly opt-in.

AI & Content Privacy

Your work belongs to you.

When you use our AI-powered tools (like the background remover or code generators), your input files are processed solely to generate the result you requested.

  • We do not use your uploaded files or code to train our AI models.
  • We do not claim ownership over your generated content.
  • Uploaded files are automatically deleted from our servers within a maximum of 7 days.

Trusted Partners

We don't sell your data. We do share limited information with trusted infrastructure providers required to run Felyra:

  • Lemon Squeezy: Acts as our Merchant of Record for secure payment processing.
  • Google Analytics: Provides anonymous usage statistics (only active if you consent to cookies).
  • Hosting Providers: Secure servers that store encrypted database backups and site assets.

Felyra Designer — Pack Downloads

If you subscribe to Felyra Designer Pro (design.felyra.studio) and download creative packs, we collect additional data for anti-piracy enforcement:

  • Download UUID: Each download generates a unique identifier tied to your account.
  • License fingerprint: Every downloaded pack includes a FELYRA-LICENSE-{id}.txt file embedded with your name, email, account ID, and download timestamp.
  • IP address (HMAC-hashed): Your IP is stored as a salted HMAC hash (not plaintext) for rainbow-table resistance.
  • User agent & bytes delivered: For abuse detection and rate-limit enforcement.
  • Timestamp (UTC): Date and time of each download.

Legal basis (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f))

This processing is necessary for our legitimate interests in preventing and investigating copyright infringement of the Packs. Data is retained for 12 months, after which it is anonymized or deleted. You may request access or erasure at any time by contacting us — subject to legal retention obligations where an active investigation is underway.

Security & Retention

We implement industry-standard security measures (SSL encryption, secure headers, strict access controls) to protect your data.

How long do we keep it?

  • Account Data: Retained until you choose to delete your account.
  • Uploaded Files: Transmitted securely and deleted automatically within 7 days.
  • Billing Records: Retained as required by tax laws (usually 5-10 years depending on jurisdiction).

Your Rights

Regardless of where you live, we believe you should have control over your data. You have the right to:

  • Access & Portability: Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Update your personal details via your account settings.
  • Deletion (Right to be Forgotten): Delete your account permanently at any time from your profile.
  • Withdraw Consent: Opt-out of marketing emails or analytics cookies at any time.

If you are in the EU/EEA, these rights are protected under GDPR.

Children's Privacy

Felyra is a professional platform intended for users aged 13 and older (or 16+ within the European Union). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a minor has created an account without your consent, please contact us immediately, and we will take steps to remove that information.
